Travelling alone can seem like the most daunting thing on the planet, but actually, even if you’re the
most introverted, shy or anxious person you know, it is extremely rewarding and not at all lonely.
Here are 6 compelling reasons why every woman should at least once in her life travel alone:
1. You meet more people
When you’re travelling alone without the distraction of your friends around you, you’re forced to
interact with new people that you might have missed otherwise. Interactions with strangers become
longer, often more meaningful and lead to more exciting situations. Also, people tend to approach
individuals on their own more than people in groups because they’re less intimidating. You don’t
have to be super outgoing for this either. If you’re shy, it’s actually often easier to meet people this
way because you will seem more approachable alone.
2. You make new friends
This goes hand in hand with number 1. Meeting more people inevitably leads to making new friends,
and often from various walks of life. When you’re alone, you become more open to new things
because you step outside of your social circle and your comfort zone. Other solo travellers will
become new friends and maybe more, so staying in hostels is the way to go. If you’re worried about
ending up alone too much, you can organise to meet locals via the couch surfing website.
3. You see what you want to see
Without the constrictions that go with travelling with others, you can spend as much time staring at
the art in the Louvre as you want to, or skip the Louvre altogether if you can’t be bothered to visit it.
There’s an enormous freedom that comes with travelling alone that you just don’t get in a group.
4. You can people watch
If you’re someone who enjoys people watching, this is a great opportunity to do so. When you’re not
busy taking photos of your friends and chatting about stuff, you have the possibility to sit back and
watch the world go by.
5. Time to think
Travelling alone gives you ample time to think and to experience things in a way which challenge old
thinking patterns. It gives you time to philosophise about the meaning of life, or enjoy the simple
beauty of trees reflected in water.
6. Your self-confidence will get higher than ever
Travelling alone can seem extremely daunting, and many people would shudder at the thought, but
it is actually extremely easy to do in terms of practicalities; all you need is some money, a guidebook
or map, a hostel and a plan. Once you realise that you can do it, and have lots of fun in the process,
you will realise that you can pretty much do anything alone, and that is a great feeling to have. That
sort of confidence boost is one that will always be there when you think back at what you

5. Awesome details
As this is a fruit-themed game, we think it’s pretty neat that you get to ramble through orchards and countrysides and deal with little bugs. You also have to aim to land in a basket rather than get squashed in a jam jar. Coherence can be pretty rare in a lot of games, so it’s super refreshing to find a game that develops a theme so well.
6. High ratings
With 5 stars on iTunes and a 4/5 rating on Google Play (with over 200 people rating this game as 5/5), we’re very confident that most people will enjoy playing Fruity Blast. It’s delicious!

1.How to play
Uplike has created a YouTube video which gives you a quick 30 second overview of the game. It is totally easy to learn: you just have to tap, hold and then drag your finger over a group of 3 or more of the same tattoos to make them disappear. The objective is to be quick and reach the target score within the given time-period. Easy!
2. Cute Tattoo Girls
We love the cute tattoo girls at the bottom of each level, they look like old-school pin-ups. The adorable manga style of the game is very appealing, and the tattoos themselves are neat! The dreamcatcher, feather, skull, flower and anchor designs are totally retro. It’s very rare to find a tattoo-themed game, so we’re all aboard this ship!
3. Tons of levels
This game has over 200 levels so you won’t reach the end too quickly (yay!). There’s nothing worse than when things end too quickly, whether they’re games, TV shows or lunchtime. Amirite?

We love the blue suede hat – blue hair – jean jacket combo. It’s both edgy and familiar, exciting and unpretentious. You can wear this outfit to Christmas dinner without looking like you’re trying super hard. This is the laid-back chick’s outfit of choice and we love it. Grunge is back folks!
Whether it’s Kurt Cobain or Doc Marten shoes that made the 90s so good, we can’t be sure. But we think it should all come flooding back. The round glasses, black lacy tops and low-hanging leather backpacks need to be in our lives.
This look is also just so 90s. Dungarees will never die (we hope!). Sleek hair, funky glasses and a casual style… and a leather jacket, of course!
2. That 70’s Show
This striped romper is so 70s it hurts. Blues, oranges and suede pumps, all you need is some James Brown playing in the background!
Shearling coats were all the rage in the 70s, along with wide-brimmed hats, both of which have made comebacks in the last couple of years! This sequined goddess is our ultimate party style inspiration!
We love this military-style khaki jacket with embroidered pink flowers on it – very “make love not war”. Groovy!
3. Folk Princess
We’re loving this flower-child look with the rose-bud hairband and white folk dress. And the goat is just the best accessory!
Embroidered dresses are so pretty! We love the colorful decorations on this floaty white dress. It makes us think of the Viking Goddess of love, Freyja.
If you want to combine a more everyday, casual look but still look like a harvest goddess, this look is one to go for. Add some white sneakers, cool shades and a leather bag with tassels and you’re done!
4. Queen of the Ocean
This swimsuit is part-bikini, part-full-body swimming costume. It’s perfect if you want the comfort of a full-body swimming costume whilst also showing off a flirty triangle of skin. The cut and color would suit pretty much any body type and skin tone, it’s the perfect versatile swimwear!
Flip-flops are so last summer! This anklet is all you need on your feet when you next hit the beach. Very “Slave Princess Leia” from Star Wars. Hot!
This is the outfit you can wear on the beach or in town. If you’re going from one to the other, it’s perfect! No one will know that you just came from the beach (apart from that happy, sunny, glowing face)!

1. Love Actually
Following the stories of a bunch of interconnected characters in England, this is a movie to watch if you need to renew your faith in love and all the random places it can pop up – around Christmas time! Friend love, lost-in-translation love, lost love, young love, forbidden love… this movie has it all! And the cast is star-ridden, making it that extra bit more exciting. Also, British accents. Yes please!
We love, love, love this movie! Zooey Deschanel charms us with her singing on a few occasions and Buddy the Elf is as fun as he is ridiculous. They make a quirky, whimsical team and we just want to curl up with a hot cocoa and watch this with Mom and the dog.
3. Home Alone
Probably older than you are, this movie from 1990 is a must-see. Following the story of the black sheep of the family who accidentally gets left behind over the Christmas season, this will appeal to all you pranksters out there who like to see a kid kick butt and turn his house into a playground-slash-warzone.
4. Die Hard
Yes indeed, this Bruce Willis action movie is in fact a Christmas movie! It takes place on Christmas Eve and includes a hostage situation, a man trying to rekindle his relationship with his wife, and of course Bruce Willis running around looking all tough. Yeah! Tis the season for some folly!
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
With a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, you can’t miss this movie! Director Tim Burton delights us with Jack Skellington who stumbles from “Halloween Town” to “Christmas Town” and decides to celebrate with some strange and amusing consequences. A classic!
6. The Holiday
If you’ve recently had your heart broken, this movie might be what you need to convince you that you can love again – perhaps you just need to look across the pond! Websites offering home swaps actually do exist, so you know… go for it!
7. Jingle All the Way
No movie marathon is complete without an Arnie film – Arnold Schwarzenegger that is! This Austrian-American muscle-man has delighted Hollywood for decades with his charming Germanic accent and soft lovability beneath that tough, prickly exterior. See him battle to get his son’s favorite toy for Christmas in the mayhem leading up to Christmas Day. Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie a 17% rating which just makes it even more intriguing… like how bad can it really be? Let’s find out!
