The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a yearly festival held in California, at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio which is part of the Colorado Desert, with temperatures getting to 106 °F making for some pretty hot rocking out. It started in 1993 when Pearl Jam decided to play there, while boycotting other venues controlled by Ticketmaster. Some famous bands and artists who have played there over the years that you may have heard of include the Foo Fighters, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Madonna. You can also catch some awesome art pieces in this environmentally- conscious event and enjoy some camping. Whether you’re actually going to Coachella or having fun back home, here are 6 things to wear for this season in honor of this event.
Ray-bans have been the quintessential eyewear of hip people since the 1930s. Kim Novak, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Dylan and rebel-without- a-cause James dean all wore them in the 50s and 60s. If you only remember one thing this year at Coachella, it should be some awesome ray-bans. Their Wayfarer and Aviator lines are their most popular and for good reason – they are totally timeless. If like most people you can’t afford to fork over cash for a pair of authentic ray-bans, ASOS has a number of awesome sunglasses that look just as good, and in the same style.
Under the scorching sun, give your skin some sweet relief and your look some enviable style with a Fedora or Panama hat. While you’re at it, moisturize your skin with some SPF moisturizer or sunblock and make sure you drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Safe is sexy!
Rompers are very in this season. You can see them absolutely everywhere. Practical AND cute, these are timeless and you can bring them out year after year. If rompers aren’t your thing, why not try some dungarees? They can be worn all year round, with tights in winter and a cute crop-top in the summer.
The 70s are one of the many flavors of Coachella. Free-spirits unite in this festival donning some truly 70s garb, and the quickest and easiest way to capture this style is to put your hair in some braids.
5. Flower crown
Flowers in your hair are the ultimate Coachella thing. Timeless and free, always beautiful, you can’t go wrong with a single flower or a whole crown. It doesn’t have to be your wedding day to look like a hippy princess.
Not technically something you wear, but all you really need… a sense of fun! Whether you go to Coachella or not, have fun this spring! Go out into the sunshine, wear flowers in your hair and put some music on.
