With Spring here, we’re looking at the TV for inspiration to revamp our wardrobes. There are so many cool, stylish women on shows these days to inspire us so we’ve picked five of the most stylish ladies out there. Find out how to dress like a fictional doctor, teacher, pregnant writer, courtesan and Viking.
1. Mindy from The Mindy Project
Mindy loves wearing cute floral knee-length dresses and of course sensible shoes because she’s a doctor and needs to move around quickly and comfortably. We totally think she would sport this style and of course be carrying some flowers from one of her many admirers. Don’t forget the shades for that blazing Spring sunshine and a cute bag for her pager and other must-haves. Her style is the epitome of cute and practical, and we want to steal it! Check out more of her looks here!
2. Jess from New Girl
Jess is the Queen of Fit and Flare dresses, cute scarves and adorable flats. Don’t forget the cardigans! In other words, Jess is the perfect blend of teacher-cute and the 50s. Ultra-feminine, her look is totally timeless and romantic, so will never go out of fashion. We can imagine Audrey Hepburn sporting this look as well.
3. Jane from Jane the Virgin
One of our favorite looks from Jane’s wardrobe is the dress paired with a cute jean jacket. Jane always wears the cutest dresses and the jacket completes the outfit, and this show is full of awesome ideas for pregnancy outfits too. We love her simple, cute, glowing look. If you’re pregnant or thinking about having a baby soon and don’t know what to wear, look no further! Jane the Virgin is here!
4. Inara from Firefly
She may be a Companion flying through space hundreds of years in the future, but Inara’s style in the much-loved “Firefly” show – which was cancelled after just one season (we’re still upset about that!) – is stunning. She is so elegant, with her flowing robes and beautiful reds. The good news is that this style does exist – in India! This is enough to make us want to take a trip there… asap!
5. Lagertha from Vikings
Taking a trip to the past this time, we’re really loving Lagertha’s fierce and powerful look. We’re sure we can recreate this look with some great braiding skills and help from mom with the sewing machine. Who said wardrobe updates had to follow current trends? Do your thing girl!
