Father’s Day is coming up quickly in the US. It’s the perfect time of year to show our fathers how much they mean to us and how much we appreciate everything they have done for us in the past and continue to do for us every day. From helping us to walk when we were small to being a shoulder to cry on when we get our hearts broken, Dads are the best and always have some advice to give. We don’t always take their advice but it’s good to have! So we decided to think up some things we can do to show them that we care on Father’s Day.
1. Give him a ‘dad’ pamper day
What’s his favorite type of beer? Does he play golf or go disc golfing? You can prepare a special day just for him with a collection of the things he loves. If you prepare an outing with activities he enjoys, he’s bound to love having a day just doing his own thing. It’s also a great time to bond with your old man.
2. Make him a gift basket
Complete with stickers for his favorite teams, beer he likes, if he likes golfing maybe some new golf balls, you get the idea! If he loves to write, maybe buy him a nice new pen. Lots of smaller gifts in a gift basket is bound to be lots of fun.
It’s hard to go wrong with cake. You could bake him his favorite cake with a funny message on the top in icing. It’s inexpensive and fun, and hey, leftovers! We’re sure he’ll share!
4. Get him a Groupon
Groupon is full of new and wild activities you can indulge in. Maybe your Dad has always wanted t ride in a helicopter, or go to the races, or scuba dive. You’re never too old to try something new, and a whacky new activity might be just the thing he needs to add some extra spice to his life.
5. Make a photo collage
Who said that men aren’t sensitive? If you make him a photo album full of pictures of the two o you, or you and your siblings growing up, he’s bound to shed a tear and pretend that it’s jus allergies. These aren’t too expensive to make either, so you can really have fun with this. If you wan to go the extra mile and give him something he’ll always use, you can give him a mug with a picture of you two printed on it.
6. Make him a mixtape
Go old-school and make a mixtape or CD for your old man, complete with the tunes of his past and the soundtrack of growing up. Did you two used to sing along to a particular song? Put that on there!
