Finding Dory is about Dory, the fish with amnesia, who only remembers up to 10 seconds at a time. In this movie, she suddenly remembers her childhood memories and sets out to find her family with the help of Nemo the clownfish and Marlin, Nemo’s Dad. It’s the sequel to Finding Nemo which came out in 2003, and is set about 6 months after Finding Nemo. It’s out on June 17 th 2016 and we’re already excited!
1. Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres, the much-loved TV show host, does the voice of Dory and she does it really well!
2. Rotten Tomatoes Rating
This film has already received a rating of 95% on the very reliable Rotten Tomatoes site. Anything over 80% on this website makes us think we should watch it.
3. Finding Nemo
We loved Finding Nemo so much, and apparently this movie is directed by the same guy – Andrew Stanton. We can’t wait to reunite with Nemo, his Dad Marlin and of course Dory, along with many of the other original characters!
4. We still remember Dory
Those of us who watched Finding Nemo still remember Dory with fondness. Everyone seems to have a friend who kind of reminds them of Dory, and some of us see ourselves in her; distractible, sweet, fun and a good friend.
5. Fun for kids and adults
This is the kind of film you can watch with your 10-year- old sister and your Dad and your bestie! Animation pretty much guarantees that kids will enjoy the film most of the time, and the makers of Finding Dory are so good that the humor and storyline will appeal to adults as well. So you get to feel like a big kid and still have your adult or adolescent brain amused by this film.
6. Ty Burrell
Yes, that’s right; the Modern Family star is in this movie too, along with co-Modern Family star Ed O’Neill! If the voices of Phil Dunphy and Jay Pritchett in this film isn’t enough to compel you to watch this, we don’t know what will! Maybe Gloria should make an appearance too!
7. Father’s Day
With Father’s Day coming up soon, this is the perfect film to watch together; families reunited, fathers and sons working as a team, and as we mentioned earlier, it’s great to watch with adults and younger people!
8. The cinema!
Cinemas are fun! They usually have air conditioning, comfy seats and popcorn never gets old! We’ve been eating it in cinemas for decades. Also there’s something really special about leaving the house and watching a movie in a theatre rather than on Netflix or Hulu.
