The International Baccalaureate results are just around the corner, and to celebrate the end of school we’ve come up with 5 fun ideas for you to make the most of your new-found freedom!
1. Water fight!
Bac results come out in the summer, which equals heat, which equals great water fighting opportunities! Break out the super-soakers, the water balloons and the hose-pipes for some soggy, splashy fun to unwind after all the hard work you’ve been doing!
2. Bonfire (with your old coursework)
Okay, so we recommend that you take the proper safety precautions before doing this, but there really is no greater feeling sometimes than watching your biology homework go up in flames – that is, if you never plan on studying anything biology-related again in your life! Or maybe you really didn’t like French class. It’s super cathartic to throw those books into a fire pit and watch them burn. You can even roast some marshmallows above them!
3. Road trip!
You’ve just finished your exams and your results are out, now is the time to seize the day and hit the road with some friends, or maybe your family! School is officially over and now the next stage of your life is beginning. Grab a car, some friends and a few supplies and just drive! See where the wind takes you. Enjoy the freedom of being young, free from responsibilities for a little bit and at an age where you don’t have to think twice before being spontaneous.
4. Getting ready for college
Now is the time to start getting excited about college life… while this is a scary and change-filled time in your life, it’s also super exciting. Going to IKEA and picking out some new bedding, finding posters for your new room and checking out the clubs you can join at college are all fun things to do before you go, if you decide that’s what you want to do next. A lot of people find this is a time to “reinvent” themselves, but you don’t have to become a different person. It’s just a great opportunity to think about what you want for the future, to look at how your tastes have changed and to have fun!
Maybe you want to shed your “school” self and go for a new look, or a whole new wardrobe, new haircut, new style! You can do this super cheaply by hitting Goodwill, or going online on EBay. You can get some excellent deals on coupon websites and you can be extra thrifty by selling off anything you no longer want. You don’t have to go into debt to change things up, and if you’re skilled at sewing, you can upcycle some old clothes to make them shiny and new!
