We’ve seen the superhero movies over and over again throughout the years; Iron Man saves the day with his incredible genius and wealth, Captain America is a heartthrob, Cat Woman is a loveable thief. But now we’re delving deep into super-villain territory, and frankly, we’re psyched! There’s something tantalizing about a group of “bad guys” being recruited to save the world. The troubled yet relatable characters are going to hit the screen in an unforgettable way. We can’t wait to see Cara Delevingne and co on the big screen this summer!
The trailer looks Ahhh-mazing! The guns and destruction make this movie look like a fun dystopian rollercoaster. Filled with sparkles and pretty colors, yet also dark and exciting, the film is like Halloween itself. Grab the popcorn ladies and gents!
2. Focus’s Will Smith and Margot Robbie make a comeback
They starred together in ‘Focus’ as an experienced con-man and a grifter who looks up to the con-man as her mentor. Now they’re back together on the set as Harley Quinn and Deadshot, a conflicted criminal who loves his daughter but also loves his criminal activities. We can’t wait to see how the chemistry works between them in this totally new context!
3. The sexy and dark outfits and makeup
This movie is enough to convince us to try out cosplay, and we already know what we’re dressing up as this Halloween; those pigtails on Harley Quinn are super cute, and we’re loving the star tattoo. Apparently Margot Robbie is an amateur tattoo artist, but we reckon using eyeliner is good enough.
4. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
This hockey-playing, Harry-Potter-Loving Aussie actress plays a super creepy and charming Harley, a psychiatrist who moves to the dark side after falling in love with Joker, one of her patients. Check out her thoughtful interview on her role here. She’s talented and smart.
5. Crazy Jared Leto as the Joker
Apparently Jared took his role as the Joker very seriously, even practicing his laugh out in public. Not only that, he also stayed in character throughout the entire production, apparently freaking out some of his co-stars and producers. Margot Robbie reportedly received a live rat in a box from him as a gift, while Will Smith received bullets.
6. Strong actresses and female roles
We fell in love with Cara Delevingne in Paper Towns and now we’re very excited to see another side of her acting in this much darker role. She plays Enchantress, a powerful sorceress and one of the targets of the Suicide Squad. Viola Davis from The Help, and the addictive How to Get Away with Murder is also making an appearance, as Amanda Waller, the official who gives Suicide Squad’s orders, and who apparently feels no guilt. All in all, this movie seems rife with fascinating and twisted characters.
