Halloween is just around the corner and we’re psyched! It’s a time when everyone’s allowed to be a kid again, wear whatever they like and eat all the candy in the house! Here is a list of our all-time favorite parts of this wonderful time to get you excited too!
1. Dress-up for all ages
Who doesn’t love getting dressed up in a scary/cute outfit? Getting our faces painted when we were kids was always loads of fun, and Halloween gives us the opportunity to revisit our Butterfly Girl outfit – but maybe more sexy/scary than cute and pink. You can’t go wrong with a big old pumpkin outfit though – Funny AND cuddly! And if you fall over in a trick-or-treating stampede, you’ll have plenty of padding for protection. Just sayin’.
2. Scary and not-so-scary movies
Casper, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas… these are just three of the best Halloween movies of all time! And that’s JUST from the 90s! Halloween gives you the perfect excuse to have a scary-movie-marathon. All you need is some…
Oh all the wonderful treats you could bake! From brain cupcakes to spider cookies, the list is as long as your imagination is wide. Check out these ideas for some inspiration: Pumpkin pie parfaits, Pumpkin favors, Pumpkin in a cake!
We’re getting hungry just looking at these pictures…
If you want to party like it’s 1989, set up a Facebook event, head over to 8tracks for some great Halloween beats such as the ones on this playlist, grab some friends to decorate the house of choice, and voila! You’re party-ready. Just don’t forget the brain cupcakes! For some fun Halloween party games, check out this list. We love the idea of a ghost piñata and some Halloween-themed twister. It’s like the older you get, the more fun kids’ games become!
5. Pumpkin Carving
Gone are the days when a simple goofy face was all you had to carve into a pumpkin. The pumpkins of today are an elaborate and artistic endeavor! Check out these amazing Halloween pumpkins: Painted pumpkin owl, Jack Skelington, Spelled-out Pumpkins. And you can keep the pumpkin flesh for your baking – purrfect!
Bonfire night in the United Kingdom is on November 5th, also known as Guy Fawkes Night – the night when parliament was almost blown up! However, we think that every night should be bonfire night, especially Halloween, the spookiest night of the year! Bring on the roasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and blankets… and a cute vampire to kiss to the sounds of howling wolves (or maybe just some Howlin’ Wolf). Mmm, wicked!
