Summer is coming to a close, the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting chilly. But this doesn’t mean you should spend all your free time inside, oh no! There are still plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the world before the bitter cold of winter hits us. Fall brings about beautiful changes in leaves and many events that are worth going out and enjoying. Here are a few things you really don’t want to miss out on throughout the fall:
1. Wild camping
Camping is always a fun way to spend a weekend away, but maybe you think of camping as going to your local campground with your family’s RV, having a proper shower you use every morning and a bed to sleep in each night. Well wild camping is more on the adventurous side, out in nature with nothing but your friends and the things you carried on your back. This is a great way to enjoy the beautiful changes happening in nature during this season. Just remember the nights are getting colder, so bring some warm clothes and a nice sleeping bag.
2. Harvest festival
Almost all towns and cities have a local harvest festival, and if yours doesn’t you’re sure to find one not too far from home. This annual festival typically features feasting, both family and communal, with foods that are produced from crops that are harvested around the time of the festival. These festivals are always a pleasant time to spend with all the people in your local community. Not to mention you will have a hard time finding fresher foods than right after they are gathered. Yum!
The coming of fall also means that it’s time to start making or picking out that costume you have wanted to don. Maybe you’re just in it for all the candy, and that’s okay too, candy is awesome. This holiday can be fun for all ages, whether you are going trick or treating or just heading out to a costume party. Don’t miss out on all the fun to be had this Halloween! It comes but once a year!
4. Fashion week
In early September fashion week makes its debut. This is one of the biggest fashion expos in the business, making it a great time to find out what is coming for this fall’s newest fashion trends. You probably want to be looking your best going back to school and fashion week is the way to do it. Find out what styles you are into and do some shopping that will have you on top of the fashion game and looking amazing.
Fall is the time for apples to be picked and pumpkins to be harvested, meaning there is no better time to do some baking with all those fresh ingredients. There are plenty of things you can do with all those apples; pies, crisps, tarts, jams, apple sauce and more! Or maybe you are more of a pumpkin person; well get out the spices and make your friends a delicious pumpkin pie or maybe some cookies. Find your favorite recipe and wow everyone with some decadent baked goods. Fall smells so good!
